Definition

A talent reserve project for supply chain and engineering students, to develop future leaders for the operating companies.

In detail

The BOLD Operations Leadership Program is a talent pipeline program for supply chain and engineering students, internally developing future operations leaders for operating companies. In the talent management system, it addresses the 'operations leadership pipeline gap' by early identification and systematic development, supplying high-potential talent for key roles. Unlike regular campus recruitment, BOLD emphasizes long-term development and rotational assignments rather than immediate placement. Outputs typically include a pool of graduates who have completed rotations and training, bringing fresh perspectives and improvement energy to operating companies.

Example in practice

A manufacturing company faces aging operations managers and insufficient internal promotion candidates. HR initiates the BOLD program, recruiting outstanding graduates in supply chain and engineering from partner universities, arranging rotations across production, quality, logistics, etc., with mentors assigned. After two years of development, these trainees gradually take on team leader or project lead roles, injecting new thinking into the operations team. The company thus builds a sustainable leadership talent pipeline, reducing the risk of key position vacancies.
