Also called: eKanban · E-kanban system · ICL · Smart Card Ripping · Intelligent Card Leveling

Definition

The refilling signal for the watchboard, supplier confirmation and capacity recalculation, is a set of capabilities implemented on the system; it is not a viewing solution, but an enhancement of the viewboard, and the uplink is based on the fact that the viewboard system is already in place at the site and the board discipline is displayed.

In detail

E-Kanban is the capability to move the Kanban replenishment signal, supplier confirmation, and capacity recalculation to a system. It is an enhancement, not a replacement, of Kanban, and its prerequisite is an existing Kanban system with demonstrated discipline. It addresses the problems of slow information transmission and error-prone manual calculations in traditional Kanban, improving replenishment efficiency through system automation. Unlike a pull system, it focuses on the digitalization of Kanban operations, with outputs being electronic replenishment instructions and inventory status.

Example in practice

A certain assembly workshop used paper kanban, and delayed replenishment signals caused stock-outs. After introducing electronic kanban, the system automatically sends replenishment signals to the warehouse and suppliers, and updates inventory in real time. Operators scan barcodes to trigger replenishment, reducing manual intervention and significantly decreasing stock-out incidents.
