In detail

The Customer Service and Support Pillar is the service pillar in the Danaher Reliability System (DRS). It focuses on service reliability and, through best practices in six key elements (troubleshooting and repair, spare parts availability, spare parts recovery, technical support, training, daily management and visual control), reduces unplanned service and customer downtime; the 2020 version glossary also writes it as 7 items, and both versions coexist, see card [[drs]]. Unlike the production pillar, it focuses on the after-sales stage; compared with the Quality Management system, it emphasizes proactive prevention. It typically outputs a service reliability assessment and improvement plan.

Example in practice

A certain equipment manufacturer found that customer downtime was too long. By applying the CSS pillar, analyzing service response processes and spare parts inventory, they optimized field service scheduling and established a preventive maintenance plan, significantly reducing unplanned service calls and improving customer satisfaction.
