Definition
Danaher Leadership Development Project for functional lines.
In detail
The Functional Danaher Leadership Program (FDLP) is a leadership development program for functional lines such as finance and human resources, aimed at improving functional leaders' business understanding and Lean Leadership. It differs from ECO, which targets newly promoted executives (across functions, not only operations), and focuses more on integrating functions with the business. Typical outputs are functional leaders' individual development plans and cross-functional project results.
Example in practice
The new Finance Director attended FDLP to learn how to apply lean thinking to financial processes. During the course, she used Value Stream Mapping to optimize the monthly closing process and reduce Non-Value Added steps. After the project ended, the closing cycle was shortened, and the finance team was able to support business decisions more effectively.
