Definition
Establish a list of ongoing projects with implementation priorities.
In detail
The Prioritized Project List (PPL) is a list of all in-progress projects ranked by priority, used to guide resource allocation and execution sequence. It addresses resource conflicts and unclear focus when multiple projects run in parallel, ensuring the team focuses on high-value projects; the PPL contains only in-progress projects and sets execution order, whereas [[mpl]] contains both in-progress and candidate development projects and mandates ranking by value — the two are not the same list. Its output is a dynamically updated project list, often combined with Policy Deployment to ensure projects align with strategic objectives.
Example in practice
When a company has multiple improvement projects simultaneously but limited resources, management uses PPL to prioritize. For example, based on strategic goals, expected benefits, and urgency, projects are classified into high, medium, and low priority. Weekly review meetings update the list and adjust priorities to ensure key projects receive sufficient support. Through PPL, teams avoid spreading efforts evenly, concentrate resources on key breakthroughs, and ultimately improve project success rates.
