Definition
The section on how to establish and maintain an effective working relationship is taught in key dialogue courses.
In detail
Successful Relationships is the closing course of the Boot Camp's Change Management & D.R.E.C. module, and its content was written by Danaher itself (four relationship types: traffic cop/expert/gunslinger/business partner; 3C = communication/collaboration/commitment; nine Contracting rules). The goal is to move relationships toward the business partner type, and it is not the same as the externally copyrighted Crucial Conversations method. It typically outputs practical guides for communication skills and relationship maintenance.
Example in practice
The project team experienced schedule delays due to poor cross-departmental communication. The team leader introduced the "Successful Relationships" module, first determining which relationship type currently exists with the other department (e.g., expert type), then using 3C and the nine Contracting rules to clarify and agree on how to collaborate, driving the relationship toward business partner type. Subsequent collaboration efficiency improved.
