VPM

Definition

A set of core project management best practices applicable to almost all project types, applying the DBS principles that include visualizing day-to-day management.

In detail

Visual Project Management (VPM) is a set of core project management best practices that apply DBS principles such as Visual Daily Management (VMDM), suitable for almost all project types. Through visual boards, daily stand-up meetings, etc., it makes project status transparent and issues quickly exposed. VPM differs from general project management in its emphasis on on-site management and team self-drive. VPM outputs include visual boards, project status reports, and issue escalation mechanisms.

Example in practice

A cross-functional project team frequently experiences schedule delays and poor communication. They introduce VPM, set up a kanban in the project room, displaying tasks, owners, deadlines, and risks. Daily 15-minute stand-up meetings update status and coordinate issues. Through visualization, the team quickly identifies bottlenecks and adjusts resources in time. The project is completed on time, and team collaboration efficiency significantly improves.
