Definition
Danaher manages the day-to-day processes that are operated on the ground (Gemba) using visualized indicator panels and routine meetings to drive unusual exposure and quick correction.
In detail
Daily Management (DM) is Danaher's daily process for shop floor management, using visual metric boards and routine meetings to drive abnormality exposure and rapid correction. It addresses the problem of issues being ignored or slow to respond in daily operations. Unlike Strategy Deployment (PD), which focuses on long-term goals, DM focuses on daily execution. Its outputs are daily management boards, meeting cadence, and problem-solving records.
Example in practice
In the production workshop, the team holds a 15-minute stand-up meeting daily to review safety, quality, delivery, cost, and other metrics. When output falls short, they immediately analyze the cause on-site and develop countermeasures. Through continuous execution of DM, the team can quickly respond to abnormalities, maintain process stability, and provide data support for PD.
