QDCI

Definition

The four core dimensions DBS uses to measure business results: quality, delivery, cost, and innovation.

In detail

QDCI stands for Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation, the four core dimensions DBS uses to measure business results. It provides a balanced framework ensuring organizations focus not only on financial results but also on customer satisfaction and long-term competitiveness. Compared to CVD, QDCI is more macro and is the core of the DBS Wheel. Outputs include performance indicators for each dimension, guiding improvement activities.

Example in practice

In the early stages of DBS implementation, management uses the QDCI framework to communicate the company's core focus areas to employees. For example, setting external PPM targets for quality, OTD targets for delivery, OMX targets for cost, and new product revenue share for innovation. By regularly reviewing QDCI metrics, the company ensures improvement activities align with strategic direction.
