Definition
Adjust the baseline relationship to reporting-period output, operating conditions or other agreed factors to estimate energy under comparable conditions.
In detail
Baseline adjustment estimates energy use under comparable conditions without the intervention. Specify inputs, validity range, units and fixed terms. Out-of-range reporting records require validation; missing readings must not become zeros. The difference between adjusted expectations and actual use still requires checks of service, quality and other changes. Model output is not automatically recognized cash benefit.
Example in practice
The classroom model is 100 per day plus twice good output, with a baseline range of 60–140 units. A reporting record of 300 units lies outside the range. Learners list it separately for validation and calculate only complete, in-range dates.
