Also called: Metering Point Data Dictionary

Definition

Data dictionary recording measurement point identity, physical coverage, measured quantity, unit, multiplier, sampling and revision rules.

In detail

The metering point dictionary connects instrument names with actual physical boundaries, clarifying the master-sub meter relationships, cumulative vs. instantaneous values, unit multipliers, time zones, and rules for handling missing data and meter replacements. It is a prerequisite for cross-system reconciliation and energy calculation; identical field names do not prove identical measurement definitions, and energy differences between upper and lower levels may also include unmetered branches, time deviations, and measurement errors, which should be investigated rather than arbitrarily allocated.

Example in practice

The team found one report recording cumulative electricity in kWh, another recording incremental in Wh. First clarify unit and aggregation method in the metering point dictionary, and check time boundary, then convert and reconcile, to avoid treating a 1000x difference as equipment abnormality.
