ECO

Also called: The senior champions' orientation course.

Definition

The DBS Advanced Overview Course for New Seniors, covering Danaher culture, value flow mapping and strategic deployment, is an important part of the HLCM integration plan.

In detail

The Executive Champion Orientation (ECO) is a high-level DBS overview for new executives or key leaders, designed to quickly build a comprehensive understanding of Danaher's culture, value stream mapping, and strategy deployment. It addresses the issue of how executives can quickly integrate and effectively lead lean transformation. Unlike tool training for frontline employees, it focuses more on strategic alignment and leadership behaviors. Typical outputs include personal development plans for executives, alignment with the DBS system, and commitment to future improvement activities.

Example in practice

When the general manager and management team of a newly acquired company need to quickly understand the Danaher Business System, the company arranges for them to attend ECO. During the course, they learn how to identify waste using value stream mapping and link company goals with daily improvement activities through strategy deployment. After the course, the management team can reach consensus on priority improvement areas and develop an initial action plan, laying the foundation for subsequent DBS advancement.
