KLL

Definition

Process for the new release of the DBS tool to reserve the resources of certified practitioners: participation in an improved daytime, evening refresher exercise with lecturers, completion of teaching and guidance, or graduation to improve leaders within six months.

In detail

Kaizen Leader Launch (KLL) is a process for building a pool of Certified Practitioner resources for newly released DBS tools. Participants take part in actual Kaizen activities during the day, review and practice with instructors in the evening, and graduate as Kaizen Leaders after completing teaching and facilitation assignments within six months. What it solves in the system is how to rapidly develop internal experts capable of independently leading Kaizen activities, ensuring that new tools can be effectively deployed. Unlike conventional training, KLL emphasizes combining practice with teaching rather than classroom learning alone. It is one of the full-level exemption paths for team leader-level assessment (see [[mbb-cert]] section 9); it is not a separate system that is "simpler than MBB"—the MBB-level assessment likewise tests whether you can teach others, not the depth of theory. The output it typically produces is a group of certified Kaizen Leaders who can guide subsequent Kaizen Events and spread the DBS methodology.

Example in practice

The company introduced a new material flow tool, but lacked internal experts to promote it. HR launched the KLL process and selected five promising engineers. They attended a one-week Kaizen project, practicing during the day and reviewing tool application with an instructor at night. Afterwards, each participant independently led at least one Kaizen Event within six months and completed teaching tasks. Ultimately, all five graduated and became certified leaders of the tool, able to guide other teams in new projects, accelerating tool adoption.
