Training and Facilitation Techniques for Instructors

TFTI

Also called: TTT

Definition

Training in teaching and facilitation skills for in-house instructors.

In detail

Trainer Facilitation and Instruction (TFTI) is a training course for internal instructors aimed at enhancing their teaching and facilitation skills to ensure effective knowledge transfer. It addresses the problem of "business experts who cannot teach," enabling instructors to apply adult learning principles, interactive techniques, and classroom management methods. Unlike the curriculum system, TFTI focuses on "how to teach," while the curriculum system focuses on "what to teach." Typical outputs include a list of certified instructors and training feedback reports.

Example in practice

A manufacturing company selects senior engineers as internal trainers, but they lack teaching experience, resulting in poor classroom effectiveness. HR organizes TFTI training covering course design, questioning techniques, and handling awkward silences. After training, trainers can teach lean tools more vividly, and trainee satisfaction improves.
